VANS ARTIST CUSTOMIZATION SERIES

Sam paired up with Secret Walls to help launch their Artist Customization Series at the Michigan Avenue store in Chicago! The Vans Artist Customization Series offers local artists a platform to share their talents while inspiring and educating the community in the art of custom shoe design. Sam was one of two Chicago-based artists selected to curate and design a box filled with all the paint supplies needed to transform a clean white pair of Vans sneakers into one-of-a-kind wearable works of art.

In addition to creating the art seen on each Customization Box and the walls of the in-store activation, Sam also painted her own sets of Vans shoes and created a video tutorial of the process to encourage buyers to make their own masterpiece! The project encourages shoppers to customize their own pair of Vans shoes utilizing a curated selection of paint tools as well as a special video tutorial created by each artists.

*The tutorials were self-filmed by the artists, directed remotely by Secret Walls in a COVID-safe green screen setup and viewable through a link contained in each artist's respective painting kit.
